A Note on Fitment: The SureStep Free-Fit allows for flexible mounting configurations with separate handrails that work around deck layouts where ski tow bars, trim, or other deck obstacles may interfere with fixed handrail installation. If your deck already has a clear 15" L x 13.5" H mounting space, we recommend the SureStep Pontoon Ladder model for an easier installation.

The Lippert SureStep Free-Fit pontoon boarding ladder makes getting back onboard feel natural, steady, and safer for kids, pets, and older passengers alike. Unlike rope-style or free-hanging ladders that wobble and swing, SureStep’s angled step design becomes more stable as weight is applied, helping provide solid footing from the water to the deck. Five wide steps with traction-enhanced treads create a deep-water reach that makes reboarding feel more like climbing stairs and less like hoisting yourself onboard. A fully enclosed chain and hinge system helps reduce pinch points, while the easy-pull strap allows the ladder to retract easily from the deck without bending or kneeling.

Mount Around Deck Obstacles

SureStep Free-Fit's independently mounted handrails adapt to a wider range of pontoon layouts. The left- and right-hand rails mount separately along the C-channel, allowing handrail placement around rear deck obstacles. SureStep may also be compatible with existing ladder mounting holes or hardware from your previous ladder (mounting hardware not included).
