Year-Round Protection

All-Weather Protection, Extended or Stored

Solera® Lumina™ all-weather awnings provide protection in any condition. When extended, premium Sunbrella® fabric resists rain, sun, and wind. When retracted, the semi-cassette housing completely seals the fabric from rain, snow, wind-blown debris, and UV exposure—so your investment stays protected whether you’re using your patio or storing the awning during harsh weather and winter months.

Weather-Resistant When Extended

Sunbrella® fabric sheds water effectively and resists UV damage, so your awning protects your patio from sun and light rain even when fully extended.

Sealed Protection When Retracted

The cassette completely seals the fabric when stored, preventing water pooling, freezing damage, and mold growth—extending the life of your awning and reducing maintenance needs.
Built for Harsh Climates
Weather-Resistant Fabric

Built for Harsh Climates

Solera® Lumina™ all-weather awnings use premium Sunbrella® woven acrylic fabric that’s specifically engineered to handle extreme conditions. This material resists fading from intense sun, won’t crack in freezing temperatures, sheds water effectively, and resists mold and mildew—so your awning performs reliably through hot summers, cold winters, heavy rain, and high humidity.

Climate-Tested Durability

Sunbrella® fabric is cold-crack tested and UV-resistant, meaning it won’t become brittle in winter or fade in intense sun, maintaining its appearance and performance for years.

Mold & Mildew Resistant

The fabric resists moisture absorption and microbial growth, so you don’t have to worry about cleaning off mold or dealing with musty smells after rainy seasons.
Rust-Resistant Construction
Built to Last

Rust-Resistant Construction

Solera® Lumina™ all-weather awnings are built with corrosion-resistant materials designed for year-round outdoor exposure. Powder-coated aluminum frames and stainless steel hardware resist rust, peeling, and deterioration even in coastal areas, high-humidity climates, or regions with harsh winters—so your awning maintains its structural integrity and appearance without constant maintenance.

Stainless Steel Hardware

All critical components use stainless steel that won’t rust or corrode, ensuring your awning operates smoothly year after year, even in salt air or high-moisture environments.

Durable Powder Coating

The frame’s powder-coated finish resists chipping, peeling, and fading, maintaining its appearance and protecting the underlying metal from corrosion in all weather conditions.

All-Weather Awning FAQ

10-Year Warranty

Rest easy knowing your investment is protected by one of the strongest warranties in the industry.

Can I leave a Solera® Lumina™ all-weather awning out in the rain or snow?

Sunbrella® fabrics are water-resistant and designed to shed light rain effectively. However, we recommend retracting the awning during heavy downpours or snow to prevent water pooling and potential weight damage. When retracted, the semi-cassette housing completely seals the fabric, protecting it from all weather conditions.

How does a Solera® Lumina™ all-weather awning handle high winds and storms?

Every motorized Solera® Lumina™ awning includes an integrated wind sensor that monitors conditions continuously. When gusts exceed safe thresholds, the system automatically retracts the awning to protect both the awning structure and your home's exterior—no manual intervention needed, even if you're not home.

Do I need to store my all-weather awning inside during winter?

No. The Solera® Lumina™ semi-cassette design is specifically engineered for year-round outdoor installation. When fully retracted, the fabric and internal components are completely protected from winter elements including snow, ice, freezing temperatures, and wind. The housing seals everything inside, so you never need to remove or store the awning.

Will the frame rust in coastal areas or high-humidity climates?

Solera® Lumina™ all-weather awnings use powder-coated aluminum frames and stainless steel hardware specifically designed to resist rust and corrosion in all environments, including coastal areas with salt air, high-humidity regions, and areas with harsh winters. The powder coating provides an additional protective barrier against moisture and corrosion.

How long will the fabric last in extreme weather conditions?

Sunbrella® woven acrylic fabric used in Solera® Lumina™ awnings is engineered for long-term outdoor exposure. It's UV-resistant, cold-crack tested, and designed to maintain its appearance and performance for years even in intense sun, freezing temperatures, and high-moisture environments. Combined with the semi-cassette housing that protects the fabric when retracted, you can expect many years of reliable performance.

What happens if I forget to retract the awning before a storm?

If you have a motorized Solera® Lumina™ awning, the integrated wind sensor will automatically detect dangerous wind conditions and retract the awning for you—even if you're not home. This built-in protection helps prevent damage from unexpected storms and gives you peace of mind.
