RV owners choose to upgrade their furniture for a variety of reasons. Seasoned RVers may have aging and outdated couches or can no longer accommodate their growing family and need to expand their sleeping capacity. Empty nesters no longer need the sleeping capacity, so they want to transform their bunkhouse floor plan into an office or hobby space. New RV owners may have purchased a used rig and want to upgrade the old furniture for increased comfort and style.

Swapping out the old for the new may not be as easy as you originally thought, especially if you’ve been living in your RV long enough to want some change. Here are some things to keep in mind:

• If you’re unhappy with the flow and function of your RV interior, then it might be time to switch things up. While considering your RV furniture replacement, it’s a good time to reimagine your floor plan to make your RV work for you.
• You don’t need exact-match furniture replacements.
• If you need to increase your sleeping capacity, consider an RV jackknife sofa or tri-fold sofa. If that extra bedroom in your toy hauler is useless to you, transform it into an office area or hobby space with a desk and pushback recliner.
• Measure, measure, measure!
• Your configuration is set, and you’ve measured once, so you should be good to go, right? Not necessarily. Measure a few different times and write down each measurement. That way, once your new camper furniture arrives, you can easily assemble and push it into place. Your purchase will be so much more satisfying if everything fits the first time!
